Andrew Deitchman was the founding U.S. partner of Mother, helping bring the independent London agency to America and establish its presence globally. Mother would go on to become one of the most influential creative companies of its generation—known for redefining how brands connect with culture. The experience shaped Andrew’s lifelong focus on building companies that sit at the intersection of creativity, business, and human experience.





True story. I co-founded Oceans, an off-shore recruiting and staffing company that taps the best talent from Sri Lanka. This is thanks to the vision, leadership, and pure hustle of my friend and frequent collaborator, Ian Myers.
This business ended up not being so foreign to me (pun intended). From the beginning, we focused on building an employee culture that translated into a great client experience. Easier said than done, and the credit all goes to Ian and the team. Below: a few fun facts and pictures from travels to Sri Lanka.








Being part of New Stand will forever be a defining part of my career and life experience. My co-founders and I had a bold vision for blending retail and media. At a time when the world was pushing ‘content to commerce’, we were pushing ‘commerce to content’ — using our stores and app to intro people to cool new things. We REALLY went for it — over $50M raised, partnership with the largest real estate company in the world, and a number of big pivots. We saw some great success. But we also made too many mistakes…and Covid kinda put the nail in the coffin. New Stand has been restaged and has helped to form a new venture, Daycast. I am forever grateful to my co-founders, employees, investors, advisors, partners for helping me get this incredible experience. The biggest gratitude shout-out goes to my wife Heather, who road a rollercoaster with me for ten years without complaining too much.

Daycast is born from combining the many years I spent helping brands engage audiences with my more recent experience with real estate, retail, hospitality and workplace programming.
Today, a company seeking help to improve its employee engagement is forced to choose partners that do not span strategy and execution. There’s ‘big consulting’ (eg. Accenture) offering high-level strategy disconnected from real implementation or there’s ‘big hospitality’ (eg. Aramark) providing logistics devoid of any strategic capability. And, neither of these resources have creative services connected to what they do.



I’ve worked with a lot of extraordinary creative people over the years. My friend and creative partner, Heather Dixon, may just top the list. Her ability to blend and bend disciplines from design to photography to poetry is kinda freakish. Most importantly, she turns that range into work that’s unmistakably original and impactful.
I love that Heather is an entrepreneur and independent spirit. She left Mac Cosmetics to found her own studio at age 24. From their cool Bushwick digs, Studio HMVD did work that people noticed. I was one of those people. And, I somehow managed to rope her into creating a new studio with me. We call it Overeasy. Check it out.
